CEO Holds First All-Remote Quarterly Tech Review

-

CEO held its first all-remote Quarterly Tech Review on July 16th.  Presentations were given by three members of the CEO team.

Dr. Faming Xu, Senior Laser Engineer, provided a summary of the performance of a diode-pumped, 5J, 527nm, Nd:YLF laser that was recently shipped to the Laboratory for Laser Energetics at the University of Rochester.  This laser includes several new design features and provides CEO with additional valuable experience in the high-energy laser market.

Wade Collins, Military/Aerospace Sales Manager, briefed the team on multiple projects that involve the manufacture of highly-complex laser and optical systems for other Northrop Grumman divisions.  This continues CEO’s long-standing position as a key supplier within Northrop Grumman for current and future laser-related military hardware.

Kevin Callan, Senior Electrical Engineer, provided details of a next-generation product that leverages the strengths of CEO’s flagship eDriveTM laser diode driver in a smaller form factor.  Two drivers will fit in a standard 2U, 19” electronics rack with each channel capable of providing pulses of up to 300A with compliance voltages of up to 365V.  The first of these drivers will ship to a commercial customer in the coming weeks.

CEO holds these reviews on a quarterly basis in order to share technical information throughout the organization.  It offers an opportunity for team members to provide information on projects that are upcoming, ongoing, or recently completed.  It is part of the company’s ongoing commitment to communication at all levels.  While restrictions imposed by COVID-19 forced the review to be held in a non-standard fashion, the experience remained overwhelmingly positive.

Jeremy Junghans – who has served in multiple engineering, program management, and sales roles during his time at CEO – serves as the organizer for the quarterly meetings.  “I was very pleased with the most recent tech review,” said Jeremy.  “We had over 20 people from our staff join us from across the country.  It was a great opportunity for some of us who haven’t seen each other during the time of COVID-19 to exchange ideas from several key projects with people who wouldn’t otherwise be aware of the new developments.”

Please contact CEO if you would like additional information on any of these topics, or if you would simply like more information about being a part of CEO’s technical team.
